City EDS go to Spurs on Monday afternoon seeking their first three points of the season.

Patrick Vieira’s men were unlucky to lose their opening game against Fulham at Hyde last Sunday, going down 2-1 after taking an early lead.

Their trip to Tottenham’s training centre in Enfield promises to be a stern test against a team that won their opening game 4-2 over Chelsea.

Spurs scored 82 goals in 24 matches at this level last season, so it’s little wonder that defending is on the new EDS manager’s mind going into the game.

“It’s going to be another tough game against Spurs but what is important is that we improve every week on the one before,” Vieira said.

“We must try to learn about the defensive mistakes we made against Fulham and try to stop conceding goals.”

Kick-off at Tottenham’s training centre on Hotspur Way (EN2 9AP) is at 12:00.
