Patrick Vieira’s men will be looking to string together their third-successive victory after their league defeat of Everton on August Bank Holiday and their impressive triumph over Barnsley in a friendly last week.
City will be without Albert Rusnak and Harry Bunn who have gone out on loan to Oldham Athletic and Sheffield United respectively.
Last season’s top-scorer Jose Angel Pozo resumed training this week after six months out of action due to an ankle injury but this game probably comes too soon for him in his recovery.
Marcos Lopes and Jordi Hiwula are both expected to feature after their strong starts to the season, while it remains to be seen if Angus Gunn or Ian Lawlor will don the gloves as the pair have been rotated in these early weeks of the season.
After three games of the under-21 Premier League season, City’s record reads as one win and two defeats, so Vieira’s men will be keen to keep their winning momentum on the East End.
West Ham are renowned for their strength at this level and have made a great start to the campaign, having won three and lost one of their opening four games.
Last time out, the Hammers recovered a three-goal deficit to defeat Newcastle 5-4 – a game which featured a hat-trick from Elliot Lee.
Supporters are advised that West Ham are charging £3 for adults and £1 for children on the gate.
