Patrick Vieira’s men are 90 minutes away from the u21 Premier League finals and they need your help to get there.
Aston Villa stand in the way in City’s final game of the regular season and what better stage for this Super Sunday showdown than the Etihad Stadium?
Entrance is free for Seasoncard holders and just £3 for everyone else (£1 for concessions) for the Midday kick-off and EDS boss Vieira has urged supporters to turn up and roar his team over the line.
In the first-leg of the u21 Premier League Cup final, 4,873 fans packed into the stadium but the Frenchman believes that this record could and should be broken for his side’s biggest game of the season so far.
“Everything is still in our hands,” Vieira declared.
“We have to win our last game against Aston Villa at home and then we are in the play-offs and I strongly believe that we can do it.
“We play at the Etihad Stadium and that’s really good news but we will need support from the fans – we had nearly 5,000 at the stadium last time to support the boys and we want to beat that record this time around.
“When you look at the season from the start until now, we’ve played some really good football, we have scored so many goals, and that’s why I think if the supporters come they will enjoy their day.”
City currently lie in seventh place in the league but know that a win over 13th place Villa would see them climb into fourth, displacing Fulham on goal difference.
That would set up a semi-final tie against top-of-the-table Chelsea in the post-season play-offs, with Liverpool and Manchester United meeting in the other tie.
Don’t forget that MCWFC are in action at the Regional Athletics Arena straight after the match and your Seasoncard or ticket to the EDS game will entitle you to free entry.
Nick Cushing’s side face Chelsea in the FA Women’s Cup quarter-final and also need your support as they aim to book a semi-final place.
