On-loan midfielder Emyr Huws is in line for his senior international debut.

Wales boss Chris Coleman has called the 20-year old into his 23-man squad for the March friendly against Iceland.

Huws has enjoyed a great start to his loan spell at Birmingham City, starting each of their last five Championship games, making two assists.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsay misses the international at Cardiff City Stadium through injury, meaning Emyr may be handed the opportunity to win his first cap.

It’s Huws’s second call-up after he was drafted into the last training camp in November, though he didn’t feature in the friendly against Finland.

Coleman told Sky Sports News that he’s a big fan of the Llanelli-born player but stressed that there’s no pressure on the youngster ahead of the game.

“He is a young player who deserves his chance,” Coleman declared.

“He has done very well through the ranks at Manchester City and now, recently, has really done well on loan at Birmingham City.

“With Aaron Ramsey still being unavailable, it is a good chance to have Emyr with us and show us what he can do in training.

“He joined in the last camp and he fitted in really well. He’s a good player – I know that City think highly of him and so do Birmingham.

“He’s playing for City who are one of, if not, the best team in the Premier League. It’s a squad full of talent and he’s in the mix.

“If he starts or comes on, it’s a big opportunity for him but here’s no pressure on him – we think he’s a good player and we’re happy to have him on board.”

Emyr will hope to catch Coleman’s eye to ensure he’s involved in Euro 2016 qualification.

Wales were drawn in Group B with Edin Dzeko’s Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vincent Kompany’s Belgium, Israel, Cyprus and Andorra at Sunday’s draw which took place in Nice.
