It's derby day in Manchester on Monday as City's Elite Development Squad lock horns with neighbours United.

The game presents the second Manchester derby of the season, with the pair meeting back in August in the Lancashire Senior Cup final. On that occasion, the Reds came out on top - coming from behind to win 2-1.

The Blues will be full of confidence going into the game, after securing their seventh successive win and earning their place in the Manchester Senior Cup final last time out.

A Jordi Hiwula hat-trick and a goal from Seko Fofana clinched a 4-0 win for Patrick Vieira’s men, who are in a rich vein of goalscoring form, having scored 11 goals in their last four games.

City currently lie eighth in the Under-21 Premier League table but the Blues do have games in hand over those above them. With a win on Monday night, they will leapfrog United - as if the clash needed any added spice!

The Reds are enjoying a decent run of form at the moment and go into the game unbeaten in five matches.

United’s last outing resulted in a goalless draw with Middlesbrough and if City are able to keep their fourth clean sheet in five games, the Blues will fancy their chances against their neighbours.

Kick-off is at 7pm at the AJ Bell Stadium, Eccles, M30 7LJ. We’ll have updates on Twitter and a full match report on mcfc.co.uk!
