Patrick Vieira’s men fired four past Norwich in their last outing in this competition to secure their first three points of the fledgling league season.
Sinan Bytyqi netted twice and Seko Fofana and Jordy Hiwula were also on the scoresheet as City’s dynamic, attacking play proved too much for the Canaries to handle.
That result leaves City sitting in 7th in the Premier League table, two points behind Thursday’s opponents, who are unbeaten so far this term.
Since the Norwich encounter, many of Vieira’s young stars have been catching the eye in the European arena with a 4-1 thumping of Bayern Munich in the UEFA Youth League.
Brandon Barker were all on target in Germany as City’s youngsters swept aside 10-man Munich to get the new campaign off to a dream start.
However, the EDS may be without Pozo for the trip up the M62 as Manuel Pellegrini revealed he could make his first team debut against Sheffield Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.
City will also be aiming to avenge last season’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Hyde’s Ewen Fields, when a goal in each half consigned the boys in blue to defeat in the two sides’ only meeting in 2013/14.
Kick off is at 7pm (BST) at the Liverpool Academy (L33 7ED). We’ll have live updates on twitter as well as a full match report shortly after full time.
