He joins Shay Facey as the second City youngster to be given the chance to continue his development with the club’s sister side in the USA.
Angelino will be eligible for selection following the opening of the MLS transfer window on July 8, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and his P1 Visa.
“I’m very happy for the opportunity that Manchester City and New York City FC have given me. To be able to play in New York is a great opportunity for me and I am eager to get started. I can’t wait to get to New York and join my new teammates,” the defender declared.

NYCFC Head Coach Jason Kreis couldn’t hide his delight with this new acquisition: “Angelino is a talented young player that I became very familiar with when I spent my five months over in Manchester.
“Immediately, he was somebody that I liked. I was impressed with his character, the way he trained and the effort he gave to the team on the pitch. I couldn’t be more pleased that we’ve been able to bring him into this squad.
“Angelino is very hungry to move forward in his career and has a fighting mentality that you want to see in a young professional.

The 18-year-old left back joined City from Deportivo La Coruna, signing as a scholar in July 2013 and made his u21 debut before his 17th birthday.
An exciting, attacking left back, Angelino was promoted to the EDS a year early, and his pace and attacking prowess ensured he was one of the first names on Patrick Vieira’s teamsheet in domestic and European competition.
Nominated for the 2014/15 LG EDS Player of the Year award, the Spanish youth international helped his side win the inaugural International Premier League Cup, and was rewarded for his rapid development with a place on the subs bench for City’s Premier League clash with Sunderland last December.
He is likely to provide competition for Jeb Brovsky and Chris Wingert for the left-back slot at Yankee Stadium.
