City’s EDS have won the RUHR Cup after a 5-0 final victory over Borussia Dortmund ended an impressive week in Germany.

The trophies didn’t end there for the Blues as Brahim Diaz was named Player of the Tournament and Lukas Nmecha was top scorer.

After facing the likes of Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen in the group stage, City qualified for the semi-final stage. It was there that Simon Davies’ U19s cruised past Liverpool with a 3-0 victory.

That gave the young Blues their opportunity to play for the trophy in Lunen, a small town north of Dortmund, and they didn’t disappoint.

A penalty early in the first 40-minute half was converted by midfielder Jacob Davenport to give City an excellent start against the hosts.

Javairo Dilrosun added the second and third to put City in a commanding position at the half-time whistle.

The second half began much slower as City kept their opponents at arm’s length with victory in sight.

Lukas Nmecha then completed the rout with a second-half brace to put Davies’ side out of reach and guarantee that he would be returning to Manchester with the golden boot.

The Blues will now return home as they prepare for their first match of the Premier League 2 season at Derby County on 15 August.
