The Blues will travel to the Madejski Stadium looking to extend their 100% record to three games after victories over Derby and Arsenal got their season off to a flyer.
Reading beat Arsenal in their opening match before last week’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur and Nmecha thinks City know what to expect from the Royals.
“We expect them to be a mix of Derby and Arsenal,” said Nmecha.
“Derby were a physical side and Arsenal were very good technically but we expect Reading to be strong while trying to pass it around.
“If we press like we know we can and win the ball back quickly then we can dominate the game. From that point it’s just about taking our chances.”
It’s been an excellent start individually for the 17-year-old striker – his brace at Derby was pivotal in turning the game around – but he isn’t getting carried away by the side’s early form.
He said: “Obviously we want to win the league but at this early stage in the season it’s just about taking it game by game.
“Our focus this week is on playing Reading and after that we’ll start looking ahead to the United game after the international break.”
After Reading, Simon Davies’ side will part ways for the international break before returning with the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium on Friday 9 September.
