After over 11 months sidelined with a knee injury, the French striker has featured in the last two matches for Simon Davies’ side and even scored in Saturday’s draw with Chelsea.
He insists, however, that the support of City fans around the world has inspired him to keep working hard during the dark months training alone in the gym.
Ambrose said: “It wasn’t easy for me because last year I was scoring goals and on top form and then I got this serious injury.
“The fans showed me a lot of support during my injury. When I posted videos or updates they sent me a lot of messages to say keep working hard and that they want to see me come back strong.
“I was so happy for this because when you’re injured and fans are still tweeting you it shows that they haven’t forgot you. They felt like my family.”

The striker is delighted to have returned to form so quickly and insists he will now work as hard as possible to make City fans happy once again.
The 19-year-old said: “I feel really good because it was a long time that I didn’t play. For the Chelsea game all my family was here and it was at the Academy Stadium so I felt comfortable. I was so happy to score the goal, help my team and feel at home in the stadium again.
“Everybody has told me I looked as strong and quick as before my injury so I was surprised! I’m fully focused on football now, if I get injured then I get injured.
“I am just playing and when I go on the pitch I want to score goals and make everybody happy rather than thinking about any tackles on me.”
The good news doesn’t end there for the striker, who has already been invited to train with Pep Guardiola’s first team.
“I’ve trained with Pep and he spoke a lot with me. He said that he knew about my big injury and that he wanted me to take my time because I would be training with the first team a few times,” said Ambrose.
