City winger Aaron Nemane is delighted to have the opportunity to star on a major day of European football on Wednesday.

City’s U19s side face Barcelona at the Mini Estadi in the UEFA Youth League just a few hours before kick-off in the night’s mammoth Champions League game.

Both sides have got off to a great start in Group C of the Youth League, seeing off the challenges of Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic.

Nemane believes Wednesday’s match will be one all fans of development football will want to see.

“We don’t expect it to be a physical game as both sides like to pass it around and we know they are quite technical. Hopefully it will be a good game between two big clubs.

“Playing at the Mini Estadi just across the road from the main stadium where the big first team game will happen is a great feeling for us because it gives us the experience and buzz of a Champions League night.”

Known for his pace and trickery on the wings, Nemane has added a cutting edge to his game so far this season.

A number of excellent assists have shown that Nemane is learning and improving with the confidence of playing in an excellent side coached by Simon Davies.

He said: “When I’ve got the ball in the right areas he wants me to go one-v-one all the time and sometimes he’s even pushing me to go two-v-one to create space and that gives me confidence to do my best for the team.”

“I like to think I’m getting better at making the right decisions when I get into dangerous areas. I’ve been more consistent with how I’ve used the ball so far and hopefully it will carry on.”
