Goals from Javairo Dilrosun and Paolo Fernandes guided City to a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Friday night.
Dilrosun’s early goal put City ahead and when Spurs striker Ryan Loft was sent off in the first half, it seemed like Davies’ side were in control of the match.
Spurs reacted defiantly but Fernandes’ second half strike came before a late Spurs penalty proved to be nothing more than consolation

City boss Davies was delighted with the way his side held their own.
He said: “Spurs are one of the best sides in the Premier League 2 with a clear philosophy so to go to their stadium and come away with the result is excellent for us.
“Sometimes a red card can have an adverse effect on the team with the advantage and we had to work even harder once they went down to ten.
“It didn’t all go right for us on the night and we didn’t always make the right decisions but we stayed true to our game and scored two wonderful goals.”

A missed penalty from Fernandes shortly before the break could have made it more comfortable for the Blues but Davies is happy with how the Spaniard recovered.
“Paolo is in a really good place at the moment,” he said.
“After missing that penalty his head could have gone down but he kept demanding the ball, scored an excellent goal and was an important part of the team.
“All of the lads are eager to learn and ready to listen. They know that if they follow the plan we set up for each match then we’ll have a good chance of getting the win.”
