The EDS initially went 2-0 down to the north London side, but Foden clinched an important goal back just before the half-time whistle.
Lukas Nmecha scored a hat-trick to finish off City’s four goal comeback and ultimately win the three points.
Davies spoke after the clash about what his side can learn from their recent Premier League 2 clash and stated that Foden’s goal helped to kick-start City’s comeback.
“To be quite honest I thought we played well throughout,” Davies explained after the 4-2 victory. “Like always, set pieces are a big part of the game and we gave a silly free-kick away on the edge of the box and it was executed very well by the Tottenham player.
“Again, another silly foul led to us being in another set-piece situation and we didn’t defend the second phase of the corner particularly well so there we go – we were 2-0 down in a game we were quite comfortable in!
“It was good that we got a goal back before half-time because that 2-1 goal line always makes you realise that the next goal is going to be very important – so that was a really good goal by Phil (Foden) to give us that impetus to move forward.”
Despite being 2-0 down early on in the game, the EDS manager still believes that his team started better than last week and worked hard into the second-half.
“In the second half we worked a little bit harder as we put Tottenham under more pressure and we created many more opportunities,” Davies said. “Like I say, it doesn’t look like we’ve started better because we went 2-0 down but there’s always more learning.
“Our focus is set-pieces and being cute around the box and not giving silly fouls away.
“We are a team which has some really talented footballers - physically we’re not always the biggest, so we have to be really careful with these types of things.
“So yes, there’s a different focus but this is a development role and there’s always things to work on.”
