The teenager came on for injured Brahim Diaz to play the second-half of City’s recent clash against Derby County and netted a hat-trick within half an hour of being on the pitch.
Nmecha secured a penalty just seconds into his appearance and went on to complete two more fine strikes to ensure City’s 4-1 win.
“It was good, I haven’t played for quite a while now so it’s good to get out there,” Nmecha explained.
“I was only meant to play for 30 minutes but we needed a little boost so the manager put me on and I made the most of it.
“It’s the best feeling coming back when you’ve been out for a while, but I got a few nudges in my back and I got used to it a little bit and now it’s fine.”
Nmecha and his team mates next face Bradford in the Checkatrade Trophy, and Nmecha insists that the squad are feeling confident.
“I think everyone’s feeling confident after not the best of starts to the season,” the teenager added. “It’s time to pull together.”
Manchester City EDS play Bradford City away at the Northern Commercials Stadium on Tuesday 24 October at 6.30pm.
