City were pegged back by Chelsea after going 2-0 up with the visitors claiming a 2-2 draw with a last-minute equaliser.
Despite the frustration at the result however, our captain is determined to keep his and the team’s heads held high.
“It’s frustrating but we have to take the positives from it,” said Doyle. “We could have had the game wrapped up, but I think we have to focus and move on.
“We’re improving every game, we have a point now and we move on to Liverpool next week.
“I think we’ll be confident going into that game. For 75 minutes there we played some top stuff. It’s now about getting three points on the board week in, week out and hopefully that’ll start next week.
“We’re a new set of lads, we’re one of the youngest in the league but we don’t use that as an excuse because we know what we can do.”
Despite their age, Doyle and some of tonight’s teammates played their part in City’s successful tour to Asia earlier this summer.
And the 17-year-old said he was keen to tap into the knowledge and experience he gained whilst out in Asia to further the EDS squad’s cause.
“It was a great experience going with the first team, especially getting some minutes as well, but now I’m back with the EDS, I’m level-headed and I can bring that experience back,” Tommy added.
“Everything now is about this team and trying to win, and we’re working hard to get that mentality into us. It’s coming.”
