Manchester City U21s will take on Scunthorpe United in the third round of the EFL Trophy early in the New Year.
Paul Harsley’s side will travel to Sands Venue Stadium for a 19:45 (UK) kick-off on Wednesday 8 January.
Ticket prices will be confirmed in due course, but City fans wishing to attend will be able to pay on the day.
A place in the last eight is at stake for Harsley’s youngsters, who overcome Shrewsbury Town on penalties to reach this stage, whilst Scunthorpe, who are currently 12th in League 2, won 3-1 away at Blackpool.
