Manchester City’s EDS manager Paul Harsley has hailed his side’s togetherness after we secured a comfortable Premier League 2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Ben Knight opened the scoring early on with a superb curling strike which nestled into the top left corner.

We had a flurry of chances to double our lead but were denied by the woodwork and some fantastic goalkeeping, but with ten minutes to go, Lewis Fiorini calmly slotted in our second and sealed the three points.

“I’m really pleased,” said Harsley. “I think we controlled the game for 90 minutes there. We got stronger and stronger as the game went on and I’m really pleased for the boys.

“We’ve had some results this year which we never deserved and were a kick in the teeth but today was a better team performance and we thoroughly deserved the win.”

The defence was very compact whilst the midfield worked smoothly together, and that unity and spirit is something that Harsley was thrilled to see.

“It’s all about the team for us and we’ve tried to foster that all season,” he continued. “It’s days like today that make it all worthwhile.”

It was the perfect way for our Under-23s to end the calendar year, with our next fixture now taking place in January and Harsley is looking forward to pushing on next year.

“We said before the game that it’s the last game of the calendar year and we look at it in blocks and that’s 4 wins from 6 games,” he said. “We’ve had some tough bumps along the way but it’s something to go into the new year with as a positive and build on it,” he concluded.
