Felix Nmecha says the EDS need to use our impressive 4-1 win over Everton as motivation for the remainder of the Premier League 2 season.

The City midfielder made his first start in nine months after recovering from a long-term injury and opened the scoring for Paul Harsley’s side.

City’s EDS put in a fine all-round performance to overcome the Merseysiders, with goals coming from Nmecha, Adrian Bernabe and a Jayden Braaf double.

For his part, Nmecha  was justifiably satisfied with the display and said that he hoped that the squad can build on it to help propel the side even further up the PL2  table.

“We kept the ball well at times and took our chances and we defended well. We were unlucky to concede a goal at the end,” said the 19-year-old.

“We need the points because we’ve lost too many games this season, but I think if we have a good run of games now, we can put ourselves in a better position in the table.

“We felt like we needed to win this game to get our momentum back and now we are just trying to keep that going.”

On his return to the team, Nmecha was happy to get 60 minutes under his belt and is hoping to gradually work his way back to full fitness.

“I think I played quite well and took my goal well, but it was my first start in nine months, so I was blowing a bit!” he admitted

“It’s just about getting my minutes back, getting my sharpness back and then just building from that.”

Next up for our EDS is a trip to Brighton on Friday 14 February at The Amex Elite Football Performance Centre. Kick-off is at 7:00pm GMT.
