CITY’S second string lifted the Ray Stanley Memorial Trophy last night when they defeated Hyde United 3-1 in the annual event.
David Ball scored twice in the 14th and 29th minutes and Paul Marshall (26mins) sandwiched in a third as the Blues raced to a three-goal interval lead and then, after a handful of half time changes, held off a spirited second half comeback by the home side.
Kasper Schmeichel, the Blues skipper collected the silverware.
