Valeri Bojinov put his absence from the City squad travelling to Denmark to good use when he scored in Tuesday night's win for Glyn Hodges' reserve side
The Bulgarian striker is not eligible for the UEFA Cup tie against Aalborg, but his 74th minute goal against Bolton will have given Mark Hughes a timely reminder of his talents.
Bolton, managed by Hodges’ old Wimbledonm cohort Alan Cork, were behind within a minute when David Ball pounced to see City into an early lead. The rest of the goals for the Blues all came after the break - James Poole on 61 minutes, then Bojinov, before a brace from Ian Daly finished things off nicely. Poole replaced Bojinov as soon as he had scored, and within three minutes he was converting the penalty he had earned when hauled down in the area. Daly then sealed an emphatic win in the 90th minute when he grabbed his second.
