Adam Clayton has been loaned to League One club Carlisle until January 2.
The England Under-20 midfielder, who recently played in the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt, signed a two-year deal in May but has yet to figure in Mark Hughes’ senior plans this season.
Carlisle manager Gary Abbott said: “City have been fantastic with us. Adam isn’t shy when it comes to putting a tackle in and he also has a good range of passing. We think he will fit in nicely.”
