The Elite Development Squad play their final friendly game tonight at Hyde as a prelude to the exciting NextGen Series next month.

After the young Blues’ emphatic 3-0 victory against Oldham Athletic in the Manchester Senior Cup, City face Burnley at Ewen Fields this evening. Coach Andy Welsh will be looking to field a strong side in preparation for the visit of Barcelona in the opening NextGen Series fixture on 15 September.

Striker Harry Bunn is back in the squad alongside the promising Gai Assulin and Denis Suarez, as well as Welsh handing opportunities to a selection of Academy starlets to impress. It’s an ideal chance for supporters to catch a glimpse of the young talent on display and to get behind the Blues.

Kick off is at 7pm, entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions with 5 loyalty points awarded for attending the fixture.

Please note that access to Ewen Fields this evening is via Mansfield Road/Grange Road North, left at the roundabout and then right into the ground. Fans are urged to avoid Lumm Road as there is no access to Walker Lane from that direction. Walker Lane is closed just before Hyde Leisure Pool for road works
