Striker Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely has joined Coventry City on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, born in Liberia but qualified for England, recently spent three months with Middlesbrough where he made 10 appearances mostly from the substitutes’ bench.

The east Midlands sky blues are currently three points adrift of Doncaster Rovers at the bottom of the npower Championship.

Alex made his Manchester City debut at Burnley in April 2010, with his first start coming away to Juventus in the following December.

Coventry manager Andy Thorn said: “This a great signing for us. He is a hot young prospect and we have been looking at him for some time.

“He will be a good option for us up front and we look forward to having him with us for the next few months.

“Manchester City think extremely highly of Alex and we are delighted that they see the benefit he will get from being here until the end of the season.”
