City EDS will be looking to stay unbeaten in the Barclays U21 Premier League when they face Fulham on Monday afternoon.

City travel to Motspur Park buoyed by the good early season form of Emyr Huws, Denis Suarez and George Evans to take on a Fulham side yet to register a win in the revamped division.

Evans travelled with the first team to the Far East and Austria over the summer, was called up for England u19s and he revealed that he is pinching himself at how well the last few months have gone.

“It all hasn’t sunk in, it’s my boyhood dream as I’ve been a City fan all my life which I got from my dad,” said Evans.

“Going away with the first team, playing for England, captaining the u21s at the Etihad Stadium – it’s fantastic, I honestly can’t put it into words, I’m loving it at the moment.”

Attilio Lombardo’s men finally overcame their NextGen Series hoodoo by recording a 3-1 win over Fenerbahce last time out.

It was a match that showed that City have pluck required to be a successful team, overturning a 1-0 half-time deficit with a vastly improved second half performance.

Despite the fact that Fulham are rooted to the bottom of the Barclays U21 Premier League table, Lombardo will not be taking the Cottagers lightly as the Blues look to run down Liverpool at the table summit.

Fulham claimed their first points of the season in their last match, drawing 0-0 with Middlesbrough, whereas City were within 10 minutes of registering a victory away in Merseyside but a late equaliser denied the Blues maximum points.

“We played well in the first half and had a great chance but in the second half we didn’t play as well and after we conceded the first goal we were less compact and we have to improve,” said Lombardo after the match.

We’ll bring you a report of how the Blues get on in the 14:00 kick-off after the game.
