City kick off their Manchester Senior Cup campaign with a trip to Edgeley Park to take on Stockport Country on Monday night at 7pm.

The Blues were due to take on Bury last Monday but the game was called off, so this is the first step on the road to try and put last season’s final defeat to Manchester United behind them.

City last won the competition in 2010 and are aiming to end Manchester United’s two year run in possession of the trophy.

It remains to be seen what kind of team Attilio Lombardo will put out for the encounter but it’s thought that the starting XI will resemble the EDS team that has contested the Barclays U21 Premier League so far this season.

Supporters are advised that they can pay on the door to get into the group match, with Stockport charging £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
