Suarez was a 71st minute substitute in the final against Greece which Los Rojas won 1-0, hinting that Spain’s period of dominance of the international game might be set to continue in the years to come.
Denis made six appearances at the Championships, scored twice and playing 284 minutes.
The only goal of the final came in the 80th minute when star of the tournament, Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu fed Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez for his fifth goal of the competition, enough to tie up the golden boot.
Spain retained the crown they won in 2011 by overcoming Greece who were England’s conquerors in the semi-final. The two teams had faced one another in the group stages a week before, with Spain coming out on top 2-1 on that occasion.
City EDS midfielder Suarez has previously represented his country at u17 and u18 level and will be hoping to break into the u21 set-up in the coming season.
The EDS NextGen series schedule will be announced soon where Denis will be hoping to add to his medal collection as City take on Juventus, Fenerbache and Paris St Germain.
