It was great to see Vladimir Weiss back in a City shirt and the young Slovakian was a constant threat down the left wing, combining well with new signing Gael Clichy.
Stefan Savic looked cool and collected on his City debut and was brave in the challenge, throwing his body on the line when neccessary - he’s going to be a hit with the fans...
Leading by example - as ever - Nigel de Jong patrolled the midfield with aplomb, wearing the captain’s armband with pride and putting in the odd crunching tackle for good measure.
Weiss was the only City player who played the entitre 90 minutes and he could be a big player for Roberto Mancini this season with his year at Rangers doing him no harm at all.
Another player looking strong and very fit already is Yaya Toure who will be a huge presence in the Blues’ midfield this season. Yaya has been training hard and looks determined to help City bring more silverware back home during the 2011/12 campaign.
