David Rocastle
Tricky winger David Rocastle may be best remembered for his time at Arsenal but he represented both City and Hull over the course of a 15-year playing career.
“Rocky” struggled to make an impact in a City side that flirted with relegation for most of the 1993/94 season, so was transferred to Chelsea after just one year at Maine Road.
His time at Hull came on a temporary basis with a loan spell in 1997. He made 11 league appearances and scored one goal.
Danny Mills
Footballer turned radio pundit and TV cookery show contestant, Danny Mills had an injury plagued spell at City which lasted five years.
He only played 54 games for the Blues but he did have a loan stint at Hull in 2006 where he made nine appearances.
The right-back retired from the game at the age of 32 in 2008 due to a persistent knee injury.
Don Revie
Arguably one of English football’s most influential figures of the twentieth century, Don Revie is another who called Hull and Manchester City home in his playing days.
The deep-lying centre-forward was named FWA Footballer of the Year in 1955 as a City player and won the FA Cup in the following season alongside Bert Trautmann.
Revie joined City from Hull in 1951 after making 76 appearances for the Tigers.
Danny Allsopp
Australian striker Danny Allsopp is still playing at the age of 35-years old for his boyhood club, Croydon City Arrows, but before all that he had a successful time of it in English football.
Allsopp joined City when the Blues were in Division Two and hit four goals in 25 games to help Joe Royle’s men back up to the First Division.
A spell at Notts County followed, before Hull City brought in the Melbourne native for his last hurrah in England. He scored 22 goals in 64 league games before returning home.
Geovanni
Brazilian playmaker Geovanni Deiberson Mauricio etched his name into Manchester derby folklore when he scored the winning goal in 2007’s win over Manchester United at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The former Barcelona man provided a few moments of genuine class which illuminated an exciting 2007/08 season in which City twice won Manchester derbies for the first time in 38 years.
Geovanni played 24 times for City that season before joining Hull in July 2008, where he enjoyed a successful two-year stay.
