With the bar set so high, even Fernandinho, who could have walked away with the prize in previous months, hasn’t even made the final three.
His time will come, no doubt. So without further ado, here are the three nominations…
Samir Nasri
Though not as productive in terms of goals and assists as he was last month, Samir’s all-round team play has been excellent as his fine campaign continues. Just one assist for the French star during November and a well-executed volley against Viktoria Plzen to show in the stats column, it’s more the link-up play his all-round creativity that has won him a place ahead of Fernandinho and perhaps a late contender for the list, Jesus Navas.
Alvaro Negredo
A superb month for The Beast, Alavro’s contribution to the team has been above and beyond the call of duty. The powerful Spaniard scored five goals plus claimed three assists (the own goal v Spurs is one example) as he continues to settle into English football. His partnership with Sergio Aguero has been a bonus for Manuel Pellegrini who couldn’t have imagined the pair would gel so quickly into such a deadly duo.
Sergio Aguero
A quite superb month for the idol of the City fans, Sergio was electric throughout November. With six goals and four assists – plus countless near misses – the Argentina star has already bagged 16 goals so far this season and is on course to break all kinds of club records. Being touted as perhaps the Blues’ best striker ever, Sergio is looking for back-to-back Etihad awards having comfortably won the vote for October.
Vote for your nomination now. One voter form the UK who selects the winner will be randomly drawn out and present the award to the winning player in person at Carrington. One overseas winner will receive a personal message from the player, too.
Voting will close on 14 December at noon (GMT).
