This week, The List focuses on the Blues’ longest-serving members of the current squad with the most appearances racked up in all competitions...

Carlos Tevez has topped the list for the last two weeks with the most shots and the most assists for the Blues this term - but he doesn’t feature this time as we look for City’s most battle-hardened player.

1. Micah Richards – 230 appearances

Imagine how many times Micah would have played for the Blues had he not been so unfortunate with injuries?

The City and England defender would no doubt be well into his third century with a bit more luck but even so, he still tops our list.

2. Vincent Kompany  - 208 appearances

The skipper has edged into his second century of appearances for the Blues and with a lengthy contract penned, could well double or even triple Vincent Kompany’s current tally.

3. Joe Hart – 203 appearances

Like Micah, Joe could have been knocking on 300 appearances had he not left on loan for a season and played second fiddle to Shay Given at City for a brief time.

Keepers traditionally top appearance lists for clubs – City have Joe Corrigan, Bert Trautmann and Frank Swift in the all-time top 10 – and there is no reason Hart couldn’t join that illustrious company in years to come.

4. Pablo Zabaleta – 181 appearances

Quietly climbing the appearances list is the ever-popular Pablo Zabaleta who seems to go from strength to strength with each season.

Grit and determination ensure he’s one of the first names on Roberto Mancini’s team-sheet and there’s no sign of that changing anytime soon.

5. Gareth Barry – 161 appearances

England international Gareth Barry completes the Top 5. The former Aston Villa midfielder has been a regular fixture in the City team since he signed for the Blues in 2009 and, like the others in this list, has been a consistent performer.
