The Blues’ outstanding performer this season believes Neil Warnock’s side have already proved they are capable of beating top sides and is warning against complacency when the teams meet on Sunday.
“I think it is going to be a really difficult game because Leeds have already proved they can beat anyone on their day,” he said.
“They have beaten Spurs and Everton this season and it was only a couple of years ago they beat United at Old Trafford so we know they will give us a tough 90 minutes.
“They are bringing 6,000 fans and they will really lift the Leeds players and male plenty of noise. As we know, there are no easy games in the FA Cup, especially at this stage.
“Leeds are doing OK this season and they are a club who are set up for the Premier League so, like I said, we’ll have to be at our best for this game.”
Turning his thoughts to the title race, Zabaleta added: “We need to push together in the same way we did last season because we still have 12 games to go in the League which is almost a third still to play so we will keep trying to win every game and see where it takes us.
“We have Chelsea next week and in many ways, that’s the perfect game for us because if we win, everyone will feel we’re right back on track.
“When you look at our squad we have many great players and we know we can all do better individually and if we are at the top of our game do better collectively as a team.”
With Pablo winning back-to-back Etihad Player of the Month awards, the Argentina and occasional City skipper was keen to show his appreciation to the supporters who nominated him for the January award.
“I’d like to thank the fans who took the time to register their vote,” he said. “It really means a lot to me and I really appreciate it.
“I always put the team ahead of my own personal gain and I always will but it is nice to be appreciated – the City fans have always been incredible towards me.”
