City full back Reece Wabara has returned to Oldham Athletic on a two week emergency loan.

The Blues defender has re-signed until 27 January which means he will be eligible to play in Oldham’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool.

The 21-year-old made his 23rd start for Paul Dickov’s side on Saturday in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford in League One.

In the Championship, Jeremy Helan’s Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed a 3-1 win away at Hull. The French wingback’s stay with the Owls has been extended until 19 January.

Meanwhile, Wayne Bridge played a full 90 minutes in Brighton’s 2-1 win over Derby at The Amex Stadium at the weekend.

City youngster Adam Drury continued his stay at Burton Albion with a 2-1 win over Torquay United in League Two. The 19-year-old will remain at the Pirelli Stadium until 4 February.

Further afield, Roque Santa Cruz’s  Malaga suffered a 3-1 defeat against La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Finally, Omar Elabdellaoui has returned from his loan spell with Feyenoord while Ryan McGivern’s stay with Hibernian has been extended until 30 June.
