Amazingly, it’s Zaba’s first Club award since the Etihad prize began last season - but he made up for his absence on the winner’s podium by polling more than 63% of the vote.
In fact, if you combined the votes Sergio Aguero (second), David Silva (third), Yaya Toure (fourth) and Gareth Barry (fifth), you’d still be around 500 votes of Zaba’s total.
The dependable Zaba, who has now clocked up 176 appearance since he signed from Espanyol in 2008, turned in several magnificent displays during December, most notably against United and Newcastle.
Katie Platt of Manchester will present Pablo with the award in person at Carrington, while our overseas winner, Jerome Tan from Singapore, will receive a personal video message from the Argentine cult hero.
