Norwegian midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim has extended his stay at Stromgodset to the end of the calendar year.

The 22-year old has spent the last 12 months at the Drammen-based club who play in Norway’s Eliteserien and will now not return to City until 31 December 2013.

Ibrahim has made 32 appearances for Stromgodset since his debut in August 2012, scoring four goals.

His most recent strike was in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Tromso which strengthened Godset’s position at the top of the Eliteserien table ahead of Rosenborg at the half-way stage of the campaign.

He has appeared for City’s first-team on three occasions and this latest loan deal follows previous spells at Scunthorpe United and NEC in the Eredivisie in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Abdi Ibrahim v Liverpool

The Somalia-born man has only just returned from the UEFA under-21 Championships in Israel where Abdi made two substitute appearances in the group stages against Italy and England before Norway were eliminated by eventual winners Spain in the semi-final.

He will next be in action on Saturday when his Stromgodset side make the trip to mid-table Haugesund.

We’ll let you know how Abdi is getting on when our Loan Watch feature returns for the new season.
