Matija Nastasic, James Milner, Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards arrived at the Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto, much to the delight of the teenage athletes and their coaches.
Situated in the heart of the community, the state of the art facility was completely transformed in 2010 from a small hall and offices to a first of its kind centre for football where 1,200 teams and 15,000 footballers play each year.
The impressive training base houses eight unique club themed changing rooms and upon arrival the players had the pleasure of opening the latest Manchester City edition, signing a plaque which will be erected on the wall.
During a question and answer session, the players were asked about all aspects of the game and talked extensively about their experiences as footballers in an effort to inspire the young men as they seek to pave their own way in the sport.
They then ventured outside into the South African winter sun and took part in a drills session designed and delivered by local instructors.
All four players proved they may have future careers in coaching, getting involved straight away in the training sessions and offering some tips and advice too!
