New City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed the composition of his backroom staff.

The Chilean, who has signed a three-year contract with the Blues, will bring three trusted lieutenants with him from Malaga to Manchester.

Long standing right hand man Ruben Cousillas from Argentina will be Pellegrini’s assistant and also making the journey from La Liga to the Premier League will be goalkeeping coach Xabier Mancisidor and fitness coach Jose Cabello.

Former City star Brian Kidd, who moved from City’s Academy into the first team set up when Roberto Mancini was appointed, will remain as part of the management team as one of Pellegrini’s assistants.

“It is important to me that Brian remains part of the coaching team,” said Pellegrini.

“He has great football knowledge, knows the league, the players and will be a big part of what we try to achieve. We have spoken and we are all excited to work together.”
