Kolo Toure says he and his team-mates still believe they can be champions this season – despite the odds seemingly being stacked against the Blues.

The Ivory Coast international was speaking ahead of City’s make-or-break clash against David Moyes’ side on Saturday.

“It’s going to be a tough game against Everton, no mistake about it – it always is!” admitted the in-form defender.

Every time we go there it is always a fight, but we need to win and just keep believing

In recent years, the Toffees have become known as the Blues’ bogey team.  In fact, City have only managed to record two wins in the last 11 away Premier League meetings between the two sides.

However, the 31-year-old, who could make his 99th appearance for the Club at Goodison Park, has every confidence City can leave the blue half of Merseyside with all three points.

“I am confident, because with the players we’ve got and the ability we have - if we are on form no-one can stop us,” he declared.

If we play the way we have been playing in recent weeks, I think it will be difficult for Everton. We just need to go there and fight

Belief in personal and team abilities is something the elder Toure brother seems to hold very dear and so when asked about City’s chances of regaining the Premier League title, it was a case of brothers in arms.

“Can we still do it? It’s a hard question, a very hard question,” said Yaya. “But in life where there is time, there is belief.

“We never know what can happen in the future. Maybe United will hit a hard spell and lose a couple of games. Who knows?

“For us, we have to do our own job and that is to keep winning, because we never know what can happen.”
