The Blues’ version of the Harlem Shake became an instant sensation and swept across the internet to become YouTube’s top new video in its first week.
Hits kept on coming, to ensure that the City Shakers was the eighth most viewed video in February on the global site.
For CityTV, it’s our most popular video ever, with the most hits and likes.
Fans and the media were transfixed by the dance, featuring first teamers Joe Hart, Joleon Lescott, Edin Dzeko, and the stoic Aleksandar Kolarov, with MirrorFootball declaring “it could well be that Manchester City have just WON THE INTERNET”.

More than 300,000 people watched Inside City’s big reveal to discover the faces hidden behind the costumes, led by Joe as Spiderman and Lescott as Ironman.
A host of EDS players, including George Evans and Devante Cole, also enjoyed filming the viral hit, which took place between a gruelling double training session.
City were the first Premier League club to take on the global phenomenon, although Fulham have now showcased their version, with Dimitar Berbatov emulating Kolarov’s unmoved stance through the madness.
