Counting all league goals since the formation of the Premier League in 1992, how many of the current squad will make it in?
Carlos Tevez 58 goals
Four years of service for the Blues has yielded 58 league goals for Carlos Tevez to date. An instant hit after his move from Manchester United in 2009, the Argentinian scored his first and second goals for the Blues against former club West Ham.
Still a vital and influential figure for the Blues, Carlos finished as City’s top scorer in all competitions last season.
Nicolas Anelka 37
Joining City for a then club record transfer fee in 2002, Nicolas Anelka delivered on Kevin Keegan’s investment by finishing top scorer in his debut season. The Frenchman was on the scoresheet in the last ever derby at Maine Road, and also scored against two of his former teams, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Sergio Aguero 35
The most famous of Sergio Aguero’s 35 league goals is undoubtedly his late, late strike against QPR to seal the most thrilling of title victories in 2012 – snatched in the dying seconds and ending a 44 year wait.
It capped a sensational debut season for Sergio, who scored 23 times in 34 appearances following his arrival from Atletico Madrid.
Niall Quinn 30
Quinn made appearances in sky blue both before and after the advent of the Premier League, scoring 30 of his 66 league goals after 1992.
Edin Dzeko 30
Goals against West Brom and Reading during the last few weeks of the Premier League campaign saw Edin Dzeko leapfrog Uwe Rosler in this list to reach a total of 30 top flight goals in a City shirt.
The Bosnian striker has contributed some vital goals since moving from Wolfsburg in January 2011, including the equaliser against QPR in the last game of the 2011/12 campaign which set up Aguero’s dramatic last-minute strike.
Uwe Rosler 29
City’s leading goalscorer for three consecutive seasons from 1994-95, Uwe Rosler found the back of the net 29 times in the Premier League in four years at Maine Road. Initially joining on trial and then on a loan deal, his performances in front of goal earned him a permanent deal in the summer.
Shaun Wright-Phillips 27
Academy graduate Shaun Wright-Phillips has racked up the highest Premier League tally from a position other than striker. The tricky winger fired in a brace on his second debut in 2008, having returned from a three year spell with Chelsea.
Robbie Fowler 21
Revered on Merseyside, Robbie Fowler appears eighth in City’s list with 21 Premier League goals in 80 appearances. He finished joint top scorer in 2004-05, but missed a penalty on the last day of the season to deny the Blues a UEFA Cup place.
Yaya Toure 21
Two of the Ivorian’s most famous goals have come at Wembley in the FA Cup, but Yaya Toure still has 21 Premier League goals to his name in three years at the Etihad Stadium.
Having just signed a new long term deal at the club, City fans will hope for Yaya to climb the list even further over the next few seasons.
Mario Balotelli 20
Netting a hattrick just five months into his City career, Mario Balotelli took 54 appearances to record his 20 Premier League goals. Scoring 13 of those goals in City’s title-winning campaign, two came in the 6-1 demolition of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
