Manuel Pellegrini confirmed City will be without three squad members for the clash with Norwich on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany remains on the side-lines with a thigh injury, while Stevan Jovetic and Javi Garcia picked up injuries in the victory over Newcastle in the Capital One Cup.

“Garcia and Jovetic have a problem from the last match and Vincent Kompany is not fit. All the other players are OK,” the Chilean revealed.

“Garcia does not have a serious injury, but he will be out tomorrow. Vincent is progressing. I think he will be back after the international break, but not before.

“He is a very important player, but we have a strong squad and the other players can play. He is an important player but we can play without him.

“In the last five matches we have won four and we lost just one against Chelsea, but I think we deserved more.”

The manager also revealed that he still hasn’t decided on the identity of his starting XI to face the Canaries in tomorrow’s Premier League fixture.

He said: “Tomorrow we will see what happens about Joe Hart. It is a decision I have to take every week with the 22 players in the team. He’s a football player and is under the same pressure every week.”

“Even the players don’t know who will start tomorrow.”

Pellegrini also warned against complacency ahead of the first match at the Etihad Stadium in four weeks.

“Norwich are a very good team,” he argued. “If we think we are playing at home, so we will win easily, I think that is a very big mistake.”
