Bin there, done that.

That’s the claim of City’s talented Under-18s who conquered the Soccer AM ‘Bin Challenge’ last week.

Now the Academy boys are proving a YouTube sensation with almost 210,000 views in just four days – and deservedly so.

The lads, all seated in two rows, had to head the ball from start to finish and complete the process with a header into a dustbin. It only took around 40 takes, but they got there in the end!

Agonisingly, the boys twice got to the final header only for Brandon Barker and then Bersant Celina to miss the target!

Under the watchful eye of coach Jason Wilcox who was heading every ball from the side-lines, finally, they cracked it but they had to thank keeper Charlie Albinson’s skills for retrieving a wayward headed pass along the way.

Pablo Maffeo was the man who took the glory, his cushioned header into the bin proving third time lucky. CityTV’s two-camera angles ensured Soccer AM confirmed a new record.

Now, watch the feat for yourself. The question is, will the EDS squad – or perhaps the seniors - now take up the challenge…?

For the record, the glory boys were: Tosin Adarabioyo, Charlie Albinson, Thierry Ambrose, Elan Assiani, Brandon Barker, Denzeil Boadu, Kean Bryan, Bersant Celina, James Hardy, James Horsfield, Jorge Intima, Daniel Lema, Pablo Maffeo, Nathaniel Oseni, Sam Tattum, Yvan Wassi, David Brooks, Zac Faour, Emmanuel Vassi and Joe Nuttall. Well done lads!
