Although City claimed a hugely creditable 2-1 win over CSKA after coming from behind, the result is likely to be overshadowed by the fall-out to these unsavoury chants in the coming days.
During the game, the 30-year old could be seen approaching referee Ovidiu Hategan to make him aware of the monkey chants that could be heard when the midfielder was on the ball.
“I told the referee - it was quite disappointing, always we’re talking about no racism but this was unbelievable,” Toure said.
“It’s very, very sad - UEFA has to do something and it would be very nice if they did - we want to stop this and we have to do something.”
