Ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Ham, The List examines City’s scoring record against the London clubs…

Which of our current squad has the best record in Premier League games against teams from the capital?

Edin Dzeko 11 goals

With 11 Premier League goals against sides from London, Edin Dzeko has the best record of any of the current squad. His total was swelled with four goals at White Hart Lane, when the Bosnian striker completed a ‘perfect hat-trick’ as part of a scintillating display against Spurs in August 2011. Seven of Edin’s strikes have been scored in London itself – he has also found the net away to Fulham, Arsenal and Queen’s Park Rangers.

Sergio Aguero 9

If asked to name Sergio Aguero’s goals against London-based opponents, all City fans could come up with his title-clinching strike against QPR! The Argentine enjoyed a spectacular record in clashes with Londoners that season – he chalked up three against Fulham, and one each against Spurs and Chelsea. Kun has scored against the Hammers before, firing the ball into the roof of the net from a Samir Nasri cross at the tail-end of last season, and will be hoping to add to his tally this weekend.

Yaya Toure 6

With a gift for a spectacular goal (or six), Yaya Toure takes third place in our list. The Ivorian’s goal against Chelsea at the Etihad made our top ten goals of last season, while his blistering strike against West Ham at Upton Park in December 2010 was even better – fans were left speechless as the ball flew from Yaya’s left boot to the roof of the net from 18 yards. The midfielder has also found the net against QPR both home and away.

David Silva 4

Slotting comfortably into another List, David Silva used his famous wizardry to conjure up a victory against Fulham in January 2013 – Merlin grabbed both goals in a 2-0 win over the Cottagers. An integral member of the squad who scooped the Premier League title, the Spaniard netted the only goal of the game in a thrilling home clash with Arsenal and got his name on the score-sheet in the away fixture against QPR in the same season.

Samir Nasri 3

As a former Arsenal man used to a few jeers when visiting White Hart Lane, Samir Nasri might take particular satisfaction that two of his three strikes against London teams have come at the expense of Spurs. The Frenchman has found the net against the North London side in each of the last two campaigns, as well as hitting a crucial late winner at home to Chelsea during the title-winning season.

Joleon Lescott 3

Another City player with a hat-trick of strikes against the sides from the capital, Joleon Lescott opened his account in October 2009 when the Sky Blues faced Fulham. It took over two years for him to add to it in a rip-roaring encounter with Spurs which ended 3-2 in January 2012, when he powered in a header from a corner. Another header against a North London side – this time against Arsenal – earned the Sky Blues a point the following September.
