Voting has now opened for the Etihad Player of the Month.

The Blues may have only played three Premier League games so far, but three nominees have emerged from the pack in the opening weeks.

They are:

Alvaro Negredo

The powerful Spaniard has made an impressive start to life as a City player. He’s actually had little more than 75 minutes on the pitch in the first three games, yet he’s scored two and should have had another against Newcastle where his injury time strike was wrongly disallowed for offside. The two that did count, against Cardiff City and Hull City, suggest Negredo is going to be handful for any opposing defender this season.

Nedgreo

Yaya Toure

Yaya has worn the captain’s armband in all three of City’s opening games after initially taking over from Vincent Kompany against Newcastle. Playing in a deeper role at present, Yaya’s trademark bursts forward have been curtailed somewhat, but two goals in two home games prove he has lost none of his potency in front of goal. His free-kick technique is a revelation with almost carbon-copy efforts against the Magpies and Hull. An impressive start by the Ivorian.

Jesus Navas

Another new signing who has hit the ground running, Jesus Navas made a superb debut against Newcastle United with his work-rate and speed causing numerous problems for the visitors. Though he was more subdued against Cardiff, he was back to his industrious best against Hull when he walked off with man-of-the –match honours.
