Ivory Coast international midfielder Abdul Razak has joined Anzhi Makhachkala on loan for the 2013/14 season.

Razak joined City from Crystal Palace in 2010 and was fast tracked into the first-team set up by Roberto Mancini in 2011.

February 2011’s 3-0 Premier League win over West Brom saw Abdul make his debut as a late substitute in place of David Silva.

He has made seven appearances in total for the Blues over the course of three years and has regularly turned out for the Elite Development Squad.

This spell in Russia marks Razak’s fourth loan spell after the midfielder’s brief stays with Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove Albion and Charlton Athletic.

Razak has won four international caps alongside Yaya Toure in the Ivory Coast team – the most recent of his appearances coming in a 4-1 defeat to Mexico on 15 August.

Abdul’s move means that the 20-year old is in line to face Tottenham Hotspur in this season’s UEFA Europa League.

The Dagestan-based club have been drawn against Spurs, Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova and Tromso of Norway in Group K of the competition.

After seven games of the Russian Premier League, Anzhi lie in 14th place after three defeats and four draws.

Razak will return to Manchester on 30 June 2014.

In other loan news, EDS striker Harry Bunn has joined Sheffield United on loan until 2 October and 21-year old Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abu has joined Danish outfit AGF Aarhus until 31 December.

We’ll keep you up to date with how Abdul, Harry and Mohammed get on in our weekly Loan Watch feature which restarts on Tuesday.
