Manager: Leonid Slutsky
Former goalkeeper Leonid Slutsky began his coaching career in youth football at Olimpia Volograd and worked his way up from there.
His breakout success came at Krylya where he guided them into Europe against all-the-odds. That success convinced CSKA to make Slutsky Juande Ramos’s replacement in the Russian capital.
He has guided CSKA to two Russian Premier League titles (2012-13 and 2013-14), two Russian Cups (2010-11 and 2012-13) and two Russian Super Cups (2013 and 2014)
Euro Pedigree:
CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup in 2005 and were runners up in the UEFA Super Cup that same year.
Since 2009/10, they have not got past the round of 16 stage in the Champions League, or the Europa League.
They finished bottom of City’s group in last year’s competition with three points.
Best UCL finish:
They reached the quarter finals in 2010, but were knocked out 2-0 on aggregate by Inter Milan.

Goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev is highly rated and Zoran Tosic has a good goal scoring record from left wing (11 in 27 league appearances last term)
Past meetings and City links:
The two clubs were drawn together in the Champions League group stages last year.
City won 2-1 in Moscow thanks to two Sergio Aguero goals, and then triumphed 5-2 in Manchester (two Aguero goals and a hat-trick from Alvaro Negredo).
NB. CSKA had their stadium partially closed for the game against Bayern Munich as punishment for racist chanting directed at Yaya Toure when City travelled to Moscow.
Recent form:
The Russian side began the season with three consecutive wins, but have slipped to back-to-back defeats in recent times; one of which was inflicted by Rubin Kazan.
