Edin Dzeko was delighted to be the player to bag City’s 100th of the season.

The in-form Bosnian striker scored the landmark hundredth of the campaign for the Blues in all competitions – as well as his 16th of the season.

Though it took goal-line technology to confirm the 14th-minute effort, Dzeko was not concerned with the way the goal went in – only that it did!

“A goal is a goal so I’m happy,” beamed Dzeko, who has scored six goals in his last four games. “It was a bit lucky but every goal is important and I’m also lucky that I scored our hundredth of the season.

“We’ve reached the century mark but we still have maybe another 20 games to go and we just have to continue the way we have been.

“I think it was a very tough game today up until the time we scored the third goal. Cardiff are a good side who try to play football so for that reason I hope they stay in the Premier League.”

CITY v WATFORD: With great family prices for the FA Cup 4th round tie with Watford on 25 January (3pm kick-off), the Blues are expecting another bumper gate for the visit of the Hornets.

Last season, almost 47,000 packed the Etihad Stadium for the FA Cup third round tie with Watford and with kids prices starting at just £1 and adult prices starting at just £15, demand is likely to be high as the Blues look to progress to the last 16 of a competition that has seen City feature in two Wembley finals in the past three seasons.
