The Football Association has confirmed that the 2014 Community Shield between Arsenal and MCFC will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 10 August at 3pm and will be broadcast live by BT Sport.

Both clubs will receive approximately 26,000 tickets for the fixture while Community Shield ticket prices remain frozen for a third consecutive year and range from £20 through to £45.

FA chairman Greg Dyke commented: “There were eleven goals in their two Premier League meetings last season so it’s a mouth-watering game to herald in the 2014-15 campaign.

“Manchester City were pushed to the wire by Liverpool but were worthy Premier League champions which was a fantastic achievement for Manuel Pellegrini in his debut season in English football.

“Not forgetting their League Cup Final win and scoring over 100 Premier League goals which were both tremendous accomplishments,” added Dyke.

Money raised from the Community Shield will be distributed to charities and good causes across the country with clubs competing in last season’s FA Cup First Round and beyond eligible to nominate organisations to receive a £2,000 payment from The FA.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City will receive £25,000 for a charity or good cause of their choice.

Please note that there will be no direct trains running between Manchester and London Euston on Saturday 9 or Sunday 10 August. Ticket and travel information will be available early next week.
