The Gunners are still hurting from their 6-0 drubbing at Chelsea and Swansea’s late leveller in the midweek 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The Blues’ Serbian left-back isn’t expecting Arsene Wenger’s side to have three bad games in a row and knows City will need to be at their best if they are to leave North London with all three points.
“Arsenal have had two bad games and I think that makes them more of a threat because they will be trying everything possible to get a good result,” said Kolarov.
“They know they probably need to win to keep in the title race, but I think we are in a very good moment and it is very important for us to win this game.”
City are the Premier League’s in-form travellers with seven wins and two draws since the 1-0 defeat at Sunderland in early November.
The Blues have also rediscovered their shooting boots with eight goals in the last two games helping close the gap on leaders Chelsea to just three points.
With recent wins over Spurs, Chelsea and United, Kolarov believes that the Blues are at their best when they are playing quality opposition, so is expecting another big performance against the Gunners.
“I think we are playing somewhere near our best again and I think we will show that again on Saturday,” he said.
“We only have the Premier League to focus on now and we are fresh because we have only one game per week.
“Of course we wish we were still fighting on all fronts but maybe it is a positive thing as regards the title race. We are only looking at the next game and not further down the line – each time we play, the next match becomes the most important.
“We played very well against United but in all honesty, we knew we were better than them. Training has been very good this week, everyone is very focused and we go to Arsenal full of confidence.”
