The in-form France star believes facing Barcelona is the perfect tonic for a side still licking their wounds and he is confident that the Blues will give as good as they get at the Camp Nou.
“Thank God we play a big game on Wednesday,” said Nasri.
“It is the best way to forget the Wigan game and be focused on the next one. It is going to be a big game. We are going to think Barcelona from now on and try to think positive and get a result there.
“It was a bad performance in Sunday and we didn’t play well.
“We did exactly the same as the Capital One Cup final - we woke up after 65 minutes, except this time we were 2-0 down and we cannot always score three goals. The big disappointment is that it is twice now that Wigan beat us in the FA Cup. It is really difficult to accept.
“When Edin hit the post and stuff, sometimes you think it is not your day. Things don’t go the way you want. We fought but it was too late. We only woke up and played for 30 minutes. At this level you cannot do that because any team can beat you.”
Though the Blues have it all to do against the Catalans, Nasri, who has scored in his last two games, believes City have the capability to produce a stunning comeback.
Barcelona have looked far from their imperious best in recent weeks, suffering back-to-back away defeats in La Liga to strugglers Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid.
“This will be an amazing game and we can do something fantastic if we change the result,” he said. “But we have to be focused and take the Wigan game as a lesson.
“I think anything is possible in football. I saw Barca this week against Valladolid. It just shows they are human. They are a great team but we are not going to have any problem to respect them because we know it is a great team. We have to do everything we can straight from the start.
“Camp Nou is always something special. It is a special feeling to play there. It is going to be difficult but I know if we play at our level we can do something. Let’s have high hopes.
“We will begin exactly the same way we finished the Wigan game. Two goals down. We have nothing to lose. If you go there and you lose it is no more but if you get a result it will be fantastic. Just attack them from the start and try to score an early goal and we’ll see where that takes us.”
